Congratulations Archie Caldow!
Last weekend Archie competed at the National Cross Country Championships held in Queensland. He had a fantastic time and did very well coming home with a top 10 finish in his individual event and winning two medals. His under 12 team won silver in the teams’ event and bronze in the relays. The whole of the Miners Rest school community is so very proud of Archie’s achievements and look forward to hearing more about his
accomplishments in the future. Well done Archie.
Sporting Schools Grant – Basketball Victoria
This week we are hosting Basketball Victoria for a fully funded free four hour clinic.
The lucky students involved in the clinic will be the year 5/6’s. This has been made
possible through the sporting schools grant applied for earlier in the year. Experienced basketball coaches will take our students through different drills and skills, and we have even been able to purchase some new equipment with our grant money.
Well Done Dan..
A big congratulations to Daniel McPhan (Lachie, Campbell and Piper’s Dad) for being
announced AFL Goldfields Junior Coach of the Year. Dan was recently presented this award at the Robert Allen Medal Presentation night for his work with the Lake
Wendouree Football Club. A fantastic effort considering how many junior coaches are in our region. Lake Wendouree will need to sign him up quickly, as I have heard the Carlton and Gold Coast Suns are looking to boost their coaching stocks with him!!!
Have a great week from Rick (P.E)
