Principals Message

What a journey and we are only halfway......

Again it has been wonderful to see many of our children involved in so many life experiences this term.  We will endeavour to ensure this continues. We want our children to be well rounded global citizens with many opportunities to shine. This term our students have enjoyed AFL, Netball, Soccer, Athletics, Cross Country, Choral Festival, Dance Festival, multiple excursions and incursions. Our Facebook page is still the best place to follow the success of our students.

I was so pleased to see the success of the Student Representative Council (SRC) initiative '14 Days of Kindness'.  Watching our students focus on the qualities of being friendly, generous, considerate and showing genuine concern and care for their fellow classmates has been a wonderful reminder of how we can all learn from our children.

Our report cards will come home on Wednesday.  As I have mentioned to the children a few times over the last week, report cards are a reflection of our children’s progress and provide parents with an overall picture of academic and social success.  It is expected that there will be some corrective language in the reports to highlight areas for development.  Please remember all of our children are on a continuum of learning and are all working at their own level.  We need to focus on meeting each child where they are and helping them achieve their own personal best.  It is often the case that children will spike and plateau throughout their schooling.  Our focus needs to be on continual improvement.

At BAPS, we pride ourselves on positive and ongoing parent interaction and support. This only works when all interactions are  conducted in a positive way.  If you need to discuss an issue or concern can I please ask that all parents and carers see your class teacher first and do not approach any child.

Best of luck to our dancers who will be performing this week and next at the Central Coast Dance Festival.  After a long preparation it will be great to see our students getting the chance to shine.

What a wonderful term it has been.  This will be our last newsletter before the school holiday.  Please enjoy the break and continue to remind our children how precious they are.

Our staff return on Monday 22 July with students returning on Tuesday 23 July.
