Year 12 VCAL Volunteering in our Community

Hi, my name is Vasilieos and I’m currently doing volunteer work as part of the Year 12 VCAL curriculum at the Brotherhood of St. Lawrence. I work in the Moonee Ponds store. I am volunteering every Monday morning during term 2.  My first duty (when I arrive there) is to fix the clothes racks in the store, so they look neat, tidy and orderly. Then I help out the friendly staff with their daily tasks. Such tasks include pricing items, sorting through dvds, sweeping floors and arranging furniture.  The job I enjoy doing most is customer service, this allows me to talk to a variety of people from different backgrounds.  I enjoy volunteering, as I feel like I want to give back to the community. I have come to understand that there are people less fortunate than me and that lending a hand is always beneficial.
