Year 7 Cruise to Williamstown Excursion

Our Year 7 Humanities classes enjoyed a cruise from Southbank to Williamstown where they engaged in fieldwork on the topic of Liveability. The hour long cruise was a highlight for our students as they enjoyed the views from our vessel and the informative commentary from our Captain. Notable attractions along our way included the Sea life Aquarium, Crown Casino, the Exhibition Centre, Polly Woodside, the Melbourne Star, the Port of Melbourne, the Westgate Bridge and Scienceworks. In Williamstown, the focus was a walk around the main streets identifying liveability factors. Students compared the local shopping strips of Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade with that of Nelson’s Place which is geared towards visitors. There was plenty to see and enjoy. The shops (particularly, the ice cream shop), the waterfront views and the park in Nelson’s Place where we had lunch and relaxed.
