Learning and Teaching

Once again, we find ourselves facing a week of lockdown. As difficult as it can be to find the ‘good’ in this we know that by doing so, we will be better prepared to face the days ahead. Practise gratitude this week through simple acts of kindness:
- Share a smile with others
- Give your kids a hug
- Check on your neighbours
Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews
Thank you to all families who joined us earlier this week for parent/teacher/student interviews. We value the opportunity to partner with families in the education of their daughters. The girls are encouraged to attend and engage in conversation regarding their learning.
To log into your interviews on PAM please follow the instructions on the attached guide to avoid delays.
For those families who were unable to make times to meet with teachers, please remember that throughout the year you are encouraged to make contact with teachers regarding any concerns you may have. Teachers are available via email and are happy to provide feedback on student learning.
GAT
Due to our current lockdown the GAT will once again be rescheduled. We will keep families informed when new information is released by the VCAA.
Information Evenings
Over the past couple of weeks the College has hosted a number of parent evenings (via Zoom) to partner with families. Each of these evenings presented information for families regarding upcoming subject selections and pathway planning. If you were unable to attend these evenings we have made them available for you with the links below.
Students will be receiving two emails regarding their upcoming subject selections:
- Email from carole.downie@kilbreda.vic.edu.au that provides instructions on how to complete online subject selections
- Email from carole.downie@kilbreda.vic.edu.au with the subject line ‘Your Web Preferences Access Guide’ and a link to the subject selection portal
Please take the time to read through course handbooks with your daughter/s and provide assistance and support in their subject selection. Remember that it is recommended that students consider three factors when selecting their subjects:
- What subjects to I enjoy doing?
- What subjects am I good at?
- What subjects will help me in my future pathway?
