Term 2

Term Wrap Up

Senior school has had a very successful and productive term. Over the term, our students have been flexible and resilient learners. Between our amazing camp and interschool sports, our students have had the opportunity to show off their many talents, values and leadership qualities when representing our school.

Reading

Our students focussed on using questioning, visualising and inferring skills when reading. Across the board, we have seen lots of progress with our reading data and are very proud of the success our students are having.

Writing

Throughout the term, our students have been writing narratives, recounts and poems. They have been expanding their ideas and word choice as well as sentence fluency and language conventions.

Maths

In Measurement and Geometry, we started the term off with shapes & angles and then practised calculating elapsed time. We also worked on length, area and perimeter.

In Statistics and Probability, we worked on interpreting and representing data. Students analysed the mean, mode median and range.

Most recently, we have covered Number and Algebra. Our students have been using algebraic expressions to represent numbers.

Holidays

We understand that this term has been extremely long and challenging for our students. This is a time where students can rest and recharge, so that they are ready for the 2nd Semester. We encourage students to continue reading and where possible revisit previously taught concepts on MyNumeracy and most importantly, enjoy their well deserved break.

Production

Our Senior students have enthusiastically taken up the opportunity of participating in our upcoming school production. They rehearsed and auditioned on Monday and were assigned their roles.

Cyber Safety & Social Media

Our school aims to prepare our students for being positive members of society, both in the community and online. Online safety is something we take very seriously and continue to work with our students on. Social media platforms do have policies and terms of service (TOS) which outline that children should be at least 13 years of age to use. We recommend that parents look at the TOS for each platform your child is using and monitor their online activity. We will continue to build their skills in being responsible and safe online members.
