Book Week 2021   “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”

Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. All the artwork this year has been done by award winning author/illustrator Shaun Tan.

This year the GSG Library will celebrate Book Week in Week Six (24 to 27 August). The theme this year is fabulous: “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”. There is so much to explore and imagine with this theme. Each classroom in Junior School is creating a world within their classroom and these will be revealed during Book Week.

Junior School Book Week Dress Up

Contact: Ms Elinor Couper, Head of Library Services on elinor.couper@gsg.wa.edu.au

We will be having a Dress Up Day on Wednesday 25 August for our Junior School students. We encourage students to come dressed as a person from the world they are creating in their classroom. They are quite excited! They have also been working on some Book Nooks which we will be excited to reveal to you during Book Week!

During library sessions we are exploring the shortlisted books and there are activities and information on these books and the categories in our Learnpath library page. You can see the shortlisted listed books here. https://cbca.org.au/shortlist-2021

We will update you further as the term proceeds.
