NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week 2021- Heal Country!

NAIDOC Week officially took place during the school holidays (July 4th-11th). NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme this year was 'Heal Country!'

At SJV, students enjoyed celebrating NAIDOC Week in their classrooms and in the library. They were invited to read and explore a number of books written and illustrated by First Nations peoples. They were also invited to participate in a number of activities which helped them learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture as well as activities aimed at unpacking the theme 'Heal Country!'
