Visual Arts and Sustainability Update

'Seeing the world through a different lens.'

Sustainability

We are so excited by sustainability at Our Lady of Fatima. We are working towards getting our Resource Smart Schools Stars in Biodiversity, Waste and Core Issues.

We are well on our way to being rewarded for all of the great things we are doing at school and you are doing at home.

Congratulations on our families who joined in World Ocean Day clean up.  It was a windy day but a great day to grab rubbish before it blew into our beautiful Bay.

Your great work is now on our Blog on the CERES website.

OLOF students are so great at not creating litter. It is the only school I have ever seen that is working so well towards being totally litter free.  You have helped that with your huge effort in doing Nude Food lunchboxes and the students are wizards at sorting litter into our 4 recycling bins.

Great job everyone. If you have any ideas on how to make nude lunchboxes that are very quick and easy please share them with us by emailing me a photo. Got to love and easy idea when you are a multi tasking parent.  Cheers

2021 National NAIDOC Poster

The 2021 National NAIDOC Poster, ‘Care for Country’ was designed by Gubbi Gubbi artist Maggie-Jean Douglas.

Using the 2021 NAIDOC Week theme, Heal Country!, as inspiration, ‘Care for Country’ is a bright and vibrant artwork which explores how Country has cared for and healed First Nations people spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and culturally.

The artwork includes communities, people, animals and bush medicines spread over different landscapes of red dirt, green grass, bush land and coastal areas to tell the story of the many ways Country can and has healed us throughout our lives and journeys.
