Deputy Principal's Update

Learning is more effective when it is an active rather than a passive process. .."

Dear Parents,

I have been so impressed with two involvements I have had with our Senior 5/6 students this past few days.  It really showed me how much they have developed into wonderful young representatives for our school.

My first was as coach of our Girl's Soccer Team at Winter Lightning Premiership on Wednesday.  All of our 5/6's were lucky enough to attend local venues and compete.  It was fantastic to see the sportsmanship and care for teammates as well as having lots of fun.  A big thank you to Mr. Koole for his organisation and to the 5/6 teachers and our support staff for ensuring our students had a great day.

The second was today as I went to the 5/6 Learning Expo where every student was able to discuss and important part of Australia or it's history that they have researched.  The many varied ways that they presented work, engaged their audience and shared the learning was outstanding.  Congratulations to all of our 5/6 team!

Reporting

Next term you will have the opportunity to hear from your own children about their learning journey over the first half of this year in our student-led conferences.  Booking details have gone home via Skoolbag today as well as an important school report arriving home with your child for the end of term.

Please make the time to look at your child's report, their self reflection and we look forward to you coming along with your own parent reflections next term.  All of this serves to provide you with information about your child's learning progression.

We hope the children (and parents too) have a restful and enjoyable term break!  Our staff have been amazing in a very busy and unpredictable time-I'm sure they will come back ready to hit the ground running!
