SRC Recipe Book
The SRC wish to launch a Lockdown/Quarantine Recipe Book as a way to bring a positive 'feel good' focus to our school - through food.
Anyone can join and contribute a recipe by dropping it in our GC CLASSWORK which is set up with basic recipe categories. Navigate to the category that best suits your recipe.
In addition to the recipes, we want to encourage each contributor to tell a 'back story' or offer a reason why this recipe was chosen/special and worth sharing ie a recipe my Granny taught me, reminds me of my cousins etc.
As it is a work in progress, the SRC hope to have a recipe template to help with the structure of each recipe.

Music
Making and listening to music in lockdown is the perfect remedy for the lockdown blues.
Yr 7 and 8 have started their songwriting journey using BandLab, a free online digital audio workstation (DAW) A DAW is an electronic device or application software used for recording, editing and producing audio files. This program allows you to alter and mix multiple recordings and tracks into a final produced piece.
Songwriting is a creative activity that helps students express a range of ideas and feelings. Songwriting can address personal, group, and global issues. The benefits of songwriting include self-expression, stress relief, a means of interpreting difficult circumstances and overcoming challenges.
The end goal of this unit of work is to give students the opportunity to create original music either individually or in a group. CGHS has produced an album of original songs from 2012 - 2019. We have everything crossed that we can get back in the studio again soon to showcase the songwriting talents of the girls at our school.
In the meantime have a listen to some of our back catalogue here.
At the end of last term the Music department filmed all the items for our Winterfest concert due to the cancellation of our evening show. It was our intention to stage the show at the beginning of Term 3 but unfortunately that looks unlikely to happen now. I’d love you to have a listen to the talent on show from students in years 7 - 12.

For twelve months, 14 remarkable musicians from NSW government high schools have trained with the Talent Development Project to nurture and develop their skills as professional musicians. One of those talented artists is our very own Aliyah Santamaria. The TDP 2021 Graduation Concert showcased all of their remarkable talents at the world-renowned Qudos Bank Arena.
