Important Notices

Student Reports

This Friday we will be distributing our semester one school reports to families.

These reports have traditionally provided a few pieces of important information to families;

  • Victorian Curriculum progression points (assigned by their class teacher) to allow parents to see how their child is performing against age-expected statewide standards and to understand their growth since the last reports in December.
  • Teacher rating on behaviour, effort and organisation
  • Semester attendance data
  • Teacher comments on a child’s time in class so far this year - personal, social and emotional
  • Teacher comments on academic achievement.

In 2021, our move towards regularly ongoing reporting and sharing work samples and portfolios of student learning on Compass (along with regular teacher comments) mean that these end of semester reports will be shorter and not contain the comments about student learning (as this has already been provided via Compass alongside actual examples of the learning being done and the progress being made).

The reports will 'go live' on Compass on Friday and we will send out a communication on the day, including a guide on how to access them through the Compass portal.

Parent Teacher interviews

We will be running our Term 3 parent teacher interviews next week (26th - 30th July). Bookings are now open on Compass and we ask all parents to make a time to meet with their child's class teacher.

The interviews will be an opportunity to discuss your child's semester one report and learning (as mentioned above), understand your child's learning goals for the second half of the school year and raise any other questions with your child's teacher.

Due to the uncertain situation regarding COVID restrictions, we will plan to run the interviews online via Zoom and your child's teacher will make contact with you to share the meeting link closer to the time.

Please see the guide linked below for further information on how to make an interview booking.

Bookings need to be made via Compass at skipps-vic.compass.education/

Final Chance - Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) survey

Our School Council are currently reviewing our outside school hours care (OSHC) programs - before and after school care and our holiday care program.

From the start of 2022, we intend to work with one provider (rather than the two companies who currently run these programs) to make things easier for families.

We would love for parents and carers to complete a short online survey to let us know their opinions of our current programs and what they see as being most important in an OSHC provider.

Whether you currently use these programs or not, we would appreciate five minutes of your time - please click on the link below.
