VCAL

Guest Speaker - Past Pupil,  Lydia Wilson

On Monday 15 July, past student Lydia returned to the College to speak to the VCAL class about her experiences since finishing school. Lydia was a VCAL student and has since been busily working to qualify as an electrician.

Lydia spoke to the students about the challenges she faced since finishing school, being a female in a male dominated industry and some of the jobs she has been contracted to complete.

Lydia also talked about the importance of setting goals and working towards achieving them. This included budgeting and managing finances to save for a car or holiday.

VCAL Showcase

Our first annual VCAL Showcase was a held on Thursday 27 June and was huge success! Our intermediate VCAL students worked extremely well to host the event, including the preparation and set up, and our senior students presented on a topic of their choice in which they completed a project.

From donation drives to environmental sustainability to overcoming fears and developing employability skills, the senior students presented very well, demonstrating confidence and passion for their particular project. All students should be immensely proud of their efforts and we look forward to hearing about many more wonderful projects next year.
