Design and Technologies

The half way mark of our calendar year is very significant for the Year 12 Product Design students.  Their focus for Semester 1 was all their developmental design work.  The overarching theme this year is “Welcoming” and each student has written her own Design Brief . 

Students have explored various cultures, different religions, current pop cultures and pass times and how music can connect us.  Their exploration into different style lines, colours, textures and fabric manipulation has been very sophisticated and thoughtful. 

At the end of Term 2, students finished experimenting with their toiles (a practice run essentially).  It is exciting and daunting for the students, as they begin cutting into their pure silks and satins and begin their final garments at Kilbreda College.   I'm a proud teacher!
