IBDP PROGRAMME

Dear Year 10 Parents & Guardians,

This is an official invitation to the second IBDP Information Evening Q & A as I know some of you were unable to attend last term. This event will be held on Zoom next Thursday May 20, from 6-7pm. Please RSVP to me: pek@brightonsc.vic.edu.au so I can email you the link on the day, I will also post it on Compass News just before the event.

Please download the PPT presentation with audio and view beforehand so you can come armed with questions. This can be found on:

Compass>School Documentation>Senior School>IBDP> An Introduction to the IBDP at BSC

The BSC IBDP Handbook can also be accessed in the same folder.

Year 10 students have also all been invited to experience ‘A Day in the IBDP’ on Thursday June 17, where they will be introduced to all the subjects and the inquiry-based learning nature of the programme. They just need to access the link to the sign-up form on their Compass news feed or here.

This is feedback from students in the first BSC IBDP cohort:

I have never been more motivated at school, the philosophy aspect that is baked into everything is extremely engaging”. Joe
I'm finding it a really motivating way to learn”. Georgia

I'm really enjoying the programme as I have more freedom of choice when it comes to my learning/education as well as being more motivated and engaged with the content we are learning”. Alexea

An awesome experience which will help me excel in learning what I love, not what I have to.” Max

I personally love the international mindedness of the IB programme; I believe it has made me more globally aware of current issues that I wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise”. Alex

I also had some great feedback at TAPAS from parents who commented that their children have never been this engaged with their schoolwork and excited to be going to school. So, it is a very positive start that I look forward to continuing in 2022.

Kind regards,

Katherine Perry
