STAFF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

The recent Professional Learning day on May 4th, 2021 was titled “Amplifying Student Voice and Agency at Brighton Secondary College”. 

Staff explored aspects of Student Voice and Agency lead by Ms Lesia Higgins our Student Leadership and Connectedness Leading Teacher, emphasising that when our students have the opportunity to exercise voice, agency, they will be empowered to take ownership of their learning, to make purposeful contributions to their learning environments, and to tackle issues arising in the world around them. 

Our Learning Specialist Team – consisting of Mr Luke Bahramis, Ms Liz Bolton, Mr Travis Dangstorp and Mr Denis Overberg – facilitated workshops for our teachers to develop deeper understanding and incorporate student voice and agency within our curriculum. 

We would like to thank the contributions of students who participated in a video demonstrating the power of voice and agency.
