A Message from the Principal

Go Gently. Be Patient With Each Other.

We are on this journey together, we will make mistakes together, we will have wonderful victories together, we will celebrate many successes together, we will carry each other through difficult times together and at the end of this journey we will celebrate all that is good with joy and gratitude together.”

Remote Learning 4.0.

As you are aware, this is a rapidly changing situation. St. Joseph’s College is committed to doing everything it can to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of our College community: staff, students, and parents/carers.

I would urge everyone to keep yourselves informed by making sure that you monitor your Operoo and email accounts as well as accessing SIMON and/or PAM.

I would like to express how much I appreciate working with our Leadership Team and staff here at St. Joseph’s during a time like this. Their professionalism, flexibility and calmness under the circumstances is very commendable. There is an enormous amount of goodwill and a clear focus on looking after everyone’s wellbeing as well as our students’ learning. Thank you to our staff.

Thank you also to our students and families. We have certainly benefitted from our previous experiences of remote learning and are finding it a smoother transition each time we must start remote learning. So far this week things are going smoothly. We are obviously hoping that the seven days of lockdown will be enough. Perhaps things will be clearer by the time you read this newsletter.

One of the things that sustains me during times like this is one of my favourite prayers, the Serenity Prayer.

God,

Please give me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The Courage to change the things that I can, and

The Wisdom to know the difference.

Amen.

Thank you one and all.

God bless.
