Good afternoon families,

 

I hope you are all coping with the circuit breaker lockdown. I have included the Operoo that was sent to all parents today with the guidelines for the organisation and implementation of remote and flexible learning. about access 

Weekly Schedule and Organisation

  • In order to access the Google Meet links for each class please refer to the following Guidelines:
    • Prep-1 - Each class teacher will send an email to families containing relevant links to learning
    • Year 2 - Each class teacher will send an email to families containing instructions of how their students will access learning via Google Classroom. Students will need to use their @stlouisaspendale.com account.
    • Year 3- 6 - Students will access learning and their Google Meets via their existing Google Classroom. Students will need to use their @stlouisaspendale.com account.
    • Specialists learning and Google Meet links will be shared with students by the Class teacher
  • Teachers will be available online from 8.45-12.45pm. This will include a recess break from 10.45 - 11.15am. During this time teachers will work with whole class and scheduled small groups to deliver the curriculum.
  • From 12.45pm teachers will be given a lunch break, time to plan, opportunity to provide feedback and respond to emails from parents and students.
  • Specialists will also be online for students on a rotating roster from Monday to Friday. Access to specialists will occur via Google Classroom. A link inviting students into each Specialist classroom will be provided
  • A rotating roster for specialists will occur in the afternoons for onsite supervision

Online Tools

Students will be able to access the learning and teaching programs in the following ways:

  • Year 4-6 students will use their own 1:1 device.
  • Year 3 will be assigned their school iPad in order to interact with learning online.
  • Prep - Year 2 will have access to remaining iPads within the school. These will be made available for loan to those families who don’t have access to a device at home.
  • Years 2 - 6 will use existing Google Classroom as their mode of delivering synchronous ( real time) )and asynchronous (not in real time) learning to students.
  • Prep and Year One will use Seesaw in supporting the capture and delivery of learning during remote learning. A Google Meet link (Google Classroom) will be shared with parents for students to use for any morning meets, and instructional learning inputs.
  • Specialists will create a Google Meet link for each year level which will remain accessible during the timetabled Specialist sessions. This link will be shared with students and/or parents

On Wednesday 26 May four of our year six students headed off to Kingston Town hall for the City of Kingston Junior Lord Mayor presentations.  Our head speaker Jack Gill supported by Aaliyah Leferve, Amelie Baker and Sienna Neyland had a fantastic presentation.  We are very proud of you all.
