Deputy Principals' Report
In this together
Welcome to our final week of Mindful in May. Each week the St Finbar's staff have a completed a mindful activity. You might like to do the same with your families at home. This week's activity is 10 minutes of being mindful to eachother. We have taken some time to reflect on some questions about the people we work with.
Take some time to focus on the stregths of others. Take a moment to make someone smile. Take some time to appreciate the community we are a part of.
This is a message for not only our kids but our parents and community as well. The aim is to take 10 minutes a day to be mindful, a walk, a mediation, time to stop and take notice of ourselves. It is also about giving back to others. Checking in, helping out or even just being available to other people. Please take a look at the website here to find out more.
If you feel that your child might benefit from some social skills, support with workload or general anxiety after COVID, we have a wonderful psychology student working with us. She is able to offer some classroom strategies and can do some one on one sessions with your child which is free of charge. Please get in touch with us if you would like more information on this.
Thanks again for your continued support and encouragement.

Students that require extra learning support may qualify for NCCD funding. If you would like to know more information about this please click here.
Parent Support Group meetings (PSGs) will take place with all funded students in Week 8 and 9 of this term. The online booking system link has been emailed to relevant families this week. These meetings will also include student-led conferences for our senior students so there is no need to book two meetings.
Supporting Year 7 Transitions
Any student that has adjustments for their learning is offered a PSG involving their high school in Term 3 or 4. This is an opportunity to discuss learning adjustments or any worries or concerns you may have with the relevant staff at the high school they will be attending. If you would like to know more about this please email me, pmcdonald@sfbrightoneast.catholic.edu.au.
