Dear Parents,
The Secondary School Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 11th June for all students in Year 7 to Year 12. The Athletics Carnival will be held at the athletics track at the Sports Dome.
Every student is expected to participate in the Athletics Carnival. Any student not attending due to illness, please email attendance@calrossy.nsw.edu.au
Any student unable to participate due to injury we ask to volunteer on the day – if you could email Annie annie.gallacher@calrossy.nsw.edu.au to let her know your child would like to help. Students who do not attend on the day must follow the correct attendance procedures.
COVID restrictions have lifted, and parents are invited to attend. We do ask that you adhere to social distancing guidelines and COVID precautions. Parents must remain in the spectator’s arena and are not to be seated in the House areas, these areas are for the students.
On the day of the Athletics Carnival, all day students are to make their own way to the Sports Dome. Boarders will be transported to and from Simpson House & Main House. A bus will be provided to and from the Brisbane Street and William Cowper Campus for those students who require transport. Yr11 & 12 students with approved Car Use may travel to and from the carnival in their own cars provided they follow the school car use rules.

Year 10 Mobile Phone Usage
Dear Parents,
I am conveying a change in mobile phone usage for Year 10 students. As a result of poor choices Year 10 have lost their ability to use their phones.
Year 10 students’ phones are not be sighted from 8.30am through to 3.25pm. No excuses are acceptable. It was clearly communicated to Year 10 students that parents/caregivers are not to contact their child directly on their mobile during the day. Parents/caregivers can however, if necessary ring Reception/Front Office to communicate to their child. If a Year 10 student needs to contact their parent/carer they will be able to use a school landline phone at Reception/Front Office. As of today, Year 10 phones should not be seen at all! iPads are no longer an acceptable device to bring to school as every student has a laptop.
So, if a Year 10 student uses their phone between the hours 8.30am through to 3.25pm, it will be confiscated and given to Mrs Pezzuto – PA to Head of Secondary, and a detention given. Phones can be collected at the end of the day from Senior Secondary office.
Thank you all for your support in this, as collectively we are stronger if we all on board with this approach.

Comfort for Cancer
Year 10 would like to inform the Calrossy community about their upcoming fundraiser for Cancer Council NSW. Comfort for Cancer was established by the Year 10 group, after a discussion about how to be active member within our community and wanting to give back after a loved one’s treatment.
Our aim is to promote awareness of the disease and its impact within our community with 145, 483 cancer cases being diagnosed in 2020.
Comfort for Cancer is encouraging members of the Calrossy community to wear their pyjama pants, Ugg boots, track pants, hoodies, Oodies and beanies to support this great organisation that provides information and support to our community on Wednesday 23rd June 2020.
A gold coin donation will go towards helping people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Which means funding world-class research, prevention, and support services across Australia, as well as helping patients both today and in the future.
