Uniform update

Phys Ed Uniform and changing procedures
We are very committed to working with our students to ensure the uniform procedures are reasonable and achievable within our time constraints.
In recent times we have noticed some of the students wearing their Phys Ed uniform throughout most or all of their classes on the day they have sport or Phys Ed, which is against our current guidelines.
The uniform the students are in is also often a variation of the agreed Northcote High School Sports uniform.
We would appreciate the support of parents in the management of these guidelines.
1. Students with PE/Sport timetabled before lunch can attend their periods 1 to 3 classes in full PE uniform until the end of their PE class. Their PE teacher will allow time to change back into school uniform. (eg students who have PE period 2 will be in PE uniform during class period 1)
2. Students with PE/Sport timetabled in the afternoon (periods 4&5) can change during lunch and remain in PE uniform for the rest of the day. (eg students who have PE period 5 will be in PE uniform during class period 4)
3. Students with PE/Sport timetabled both in the morning and afternoon will remain in PE uniform for the full day.
4. Students must wear full and correct PE uniform otherwise they will need to be in full school uniform and with a parental note explaining the reason why they are not in correct PE uniform.
5. Students arrive at PE classes already in the PE/sport uniform - this will provide more time for teaching and learning.
Please also note that it is an expectation that all students attend every class with the correct materials for learning, this obviously includes ensuring they are changed for every practical PE/Sport class. It is helpful if parents supply a note with the student if this is unable to occur on a given day.
Notice of change to uniform supplier
During 2017, School Council conducted a review of the current Northcote High School uniform. Feedback was sought from students, families and staff around existing uniform items and supply arrangements were also considered as part of the review.
Following the review, a number of recommendations were adopted by School Council. One of these recommendations was to conduct a tender process for the supply of the Northcote High School uniform. The tender was conducted during Term 4 2017. The outcome is that, in March 2018, Noone Imagewear will be taking over supply of the current school uniform.
Established in 1947, the Noone Group of Companies supplies products to over 1200 schools nationally and as retail specialists, currently manage the school uniform requirements of over 170 schools in Victoria. As a market leader in the Australian school uniform industry, Noone Imagewear is committed to offering the Northcote High School community a complete uniform solution in the design, manufacture and supply of quality uniforms.
Northcote High School would like to thank the outgoing supplier, Dobsons, for their long-standing support of and service to the school. As of 28 February, 2018, Northcote uniform will no longer be available from Dobsons online or retail stores. The onsite uniform shop will also be closed for refurbishment from this date, and will reopen on Tuesday 13 March.
What does this mean for families who need to purchase uniform?
Noone Imagewear will continue to offer the full uniform range through the on-campus shop, online and at their retail outlet in East Ivanhoe. They will commence supply across these three outlets on Tuesday 13 March: a pricelist and purchasing information will be provided prior to that date. Noone will initially be selling the existing stock (manufactured by Dobsons) and will then take over production as that stock is exhausted.
Families who urgently require uniform items between 28 February and 13 March should contact the school directly on 9488 2300 or info@nhs.vic.edu.au
