Get to know your Library

New library book club
Love talking about books? Then join us for the new library book club. The flexible book club is for anybody who loves to read and is going to be theme based. We won’t have a set text, instead we’ll be sharing picks for each theme, or simply chatting about the books we’re currently reading.
Our first meeting is Wednesday 21 Feb 3.10-4pm in the library. Bring your theme ideas and your favourite book right now; enjoy some snacks and take home some inspiration for what to read next.
The group will meet every second Wednesday (B week) after school in the library until 4pm. Hope to see you there!
Welcome New Student Library Assistants
We recently held an orientation session for new Student Library Assistants, with some help from Izzy and Tani, two of our assistants from last year. Student Library Assistants help before and after school and during recess and lunchtimes with:
- Loaning and returning books
- Reviewing and recommending books
- Helping with printing and photocopying
- Shelving Fiction and non-Fiction books
- Meeting with library staff as a student advisory team
This is a great chance for students to get some work experience, whilst making a contribution to their library. Interested students can talk to Jenny, Justine, Kathryn or Chloe in the library.
Are you a teen who is passionate about books and writing?
The Centre for Youth Literature (State Library Victoria SLV) is excited to be redeveloping the much loved website, Inside a Dog. The new and improved website will be a community hub for bookish teens where they can share their love of reading and books.
Register your interest now to be part of a select group of early users invited to join the brand-new Inside a Dog website. You’ll have exclusive access to bookish news, online programs and competitions – and you'll be able to provide feedback that shapes the site.
Register your interest at https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/expression-interest-inside-dog-early-user-group before the end of February 2018!
