Principal's News

Dear Families,

COVID

I hope that you and your family remain safe and well in these challenging times.

Many of you would have heard the press conference this morning, by the Acting Premier, Mr James Merlino regarding lockdown as of 11:59 tonight until June 3.

It is now clear that tomorrow Friday 28 May will be a school closure day (Team Kids will be operating for children of essential workers) and remote learning will commence Monday 31 May until Thursday June 3, with students returning to the classroom Friday June 4. Your child will come home tonight with an activity pack and their pencil case for remote learning starting on Monday.

As stated in the past  , “…...if students can stay at home, they must stay at home". The main concern in relation to the spread of COVID-19 at the moment is the increased rate of community transmission. Therefore to limit the amount of adult movement and subsequent congregation due to school drop off and pick up, these decisions have been made for us. There have now been significant changes to adults and their classification as essential workers. All applications for student attendance will be audited against government advice.

You would have received information via Operoo regarding arrangements for supervision for essential workers children.

SACRAMENT OF EUCHARIST CELEBRATION

Thank you to the parents and students of Year 4 who participated in the Eucharist Celebration on Sunday. It was lovely to see families come together to celebrate the occasion. I was very proud of our children and how respectful and reverent they were.

CROSS COUNTRY

Well done and congratulations to our Year 3-6 students who participated in the District Cross Country last Thursday. You all represented our school so well and I could not be prouder of you all.

Congratulations to the children who made it through to the next level of Cross Country.
