ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS
With the return to face-to-face learning and teaching for all students in metropolitan Melbourne, singing and playing wind and brass instruments at school can occur.
Department recommendations to reduce transmission risk must be followed such as playing outside or in well-ventilated areas with the physical distancing of 2 metres between performers. Our Music Centre has a whole wall with a large folding window that opens up to our outdoor stage. This allows us to set up ensembles half outside and half indoors, enabling good separation and excellent ventilation around our players. The only issue is that in the middle of winter it will be very cold so please ensure you come to rehearsals well rugged up. We will allow scarves and beanies in rehearsals if you need them.
WINTER CONCERT RESCHEDULED
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we were very disappointed to have to cancel the Winter Concert on the 1st of June after such a successful Music camp. Unfortunately concerts, events and excursions are not yet permitted. When restrictions ease further we will reschedule the concert and honour any tickets that were bought for the original date. We appreciate all your support and look forward to showing off all the great work we’ve done this year.
