Campus Tours Recommence
Campus tours will recommence across Heritage College campuses on Tuesday, 26th May. Social distancing will apply, and tours will be limited to three members of a family attending at any one time. Thank you for noting this as we welcome visitors back to campus after some time.
For more information and to book a tour, please call Reception on 03 9796 0100 or email
Canteen will no longer be operating for the remainder of Term 2. Please ensure your child/ren bring lunch and snacks with them to school each day.
CCTV In Use at Both Campuses
Effective this year, we now have CCTV cameras operating in all areas of our College, at both campuses and on our buses.
We believe the safety of our students, staff, parents and facilities is of utmost importance and feel the addition of cameras at Officer (and NWS since prior to 2019) will be beneficial.

Have your circumstances changed? Do you have a Healthcare Card?
If so, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance from the Victorian Government towards your child's camps, sports and excursions.
Please visit the Department of Education website to find out if you are eligible, and contact Reception on 03 9796 0100 or email email@example.com to receive an application form.
Parent Surveys and Feedback Forms
A number of surveys have been developed and sent for feedback and input. We are aware that these may have come through a number of channels (letter, SEQTA, Seesaw) and are compiling them here in one place that is easily accessible. We would love to hear from you across each of these different areas. These links will remain in the newsletter throughout Term 2.
Enrolment Intentions for 2021: Families with incoming 3 and 4 Year Olds and Preps in 2021, register your intention to enrol your child.
How Can We Help: If you’re struggling, let us know how we can help during this time.
Parent Voice: Let us know your valuable feedback during this time.
Mrs Fiona Spence
The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and our people remains our highest priority. Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, the School Banking program will remain on hold. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed with any updates including how we will be managing Dollarmite tokens for students.
In the meantime, here are some handy online resources for parents who wish to maintain momentum with their child’s financial education:
- Start Smart: these resources have been created to improve children’s money management skills, and is aligned to the Australian Curriculum and the National Consumer Financial Literacy Framework.
- The Beanstalk: offers videos and fun activities for children to learn about money.
2021 Sibling Enrolments
Families, it’s time to think about Early Years enrolments for 2021 (3 and 4 Year Old Kinder and Prep classes). As siblings of existing students are priority enrolments, it's important that we know and account for all incoming siblings in these foundational classes of the college. Once your child is enrolled in Prep, there is no need to re-enrol as the enrolment is automatically retained each year until graduation.
Families of the college are priority enrolments for the Early Learning Centre. If your child turns 3 or 4 next year, complete this Google Form to update us with your intention to enrol. Secure your place before the public intake begins by submitting an enrolment form by the end of Term 2.
Dates to remember
Applications for enrolment: received by last week of Term 2.
Please call 03 9796 0100 or contact me directly to discuss your child’s enrolment for next year by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Uniform in Secondary
Whilst we have only been back on campus for a short time, it is of vital importance proper uniform is worn each day. It not only shows respect for the college, but it also shows respect for one’s self.
We have seen some students arriving at school with mixing and matching sports and formal, as well as wearing non-uniform elements. Thank you for your continued vigilance in sending your child in proper uniform each day. If your child is out of uniform for any reason, please send a written note for your child's homeroom teacher.

Year 6 Families Stepping Up to Year 7 in 2021
We are now in the process of compiling our Year 7 class lists for next year, so families in the Year 6 cohort (OCP and NWS campus locations) will receive letters of offer for Year 7 2021 by the second week of Term 3. This letter will also provide details on the upcoming 'blazer fitting' dates. After this point, the college will accept placement offers to external families enquiring for Year 7 2021.
During Term 2, we had planned to invite our current NWS and OCP Year 6 parents to tour the secondary campus with Mr Sevenhuysen and Mr Martin (Deputy Principal, Secondary). As all on-campus events were cancelled due to COVID-19, these tours will be available during Term 3. If you would like to book, simply email email@example.com, and we will arrange a date and time for you.
Remember that if you are not moving across to Heritage College Officer Campus for Year 7 2021, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. A full term’s notice is required for families who are de-registering from the college.
