House competition

House Points tally update

Congratulations to all students and staff for getting involved in all the various house initiatives that have run over the course of our year. Despite a large portion of our “usual” house events not being able to run, there have been an incredible variety of activities run in order to contribute to the house shield. As we are now half way into our school year, below are the most up to date house points:

1st – Mackellar (1986)

2nd – Kenny (1838)

3rd – Jackson (1783)

4th – Melba (1421)

Don’t forget there are LOTS of ways to score house points now so please keep an eye out for these. Some ways that are currently running include, the bumper sticker initiative, ( some examples above) Junior School lunchtime Kahoot competitions, Maths Fractions Buster competition and Strava Bike Riding challenge just to name a few. Good luck and ‘May the best team win!'

School Sport Victoria (SSV) Virtual Track and Field Event

Are you looking for another alternative way to be physically active during our time at home?School Sport Victoria (SSV) is running an initiative "virtual track and field" with a number of various events that you can attempt to run in your homes or outside and can then be submitted. If you are keen, you can access this on the SSV website which can be found here - https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/Pages/SSVVirtualTrackandField.aspx.

Make sure when you submit your results that you include our school name as part of your submission in order to allow points to be awarded. By taking part in this great event, you will not only score points for your school, but you will also be improving yourself every time you try. There is nothing better than self-improvement and personal bests.

There are several ways that you can be involved, you can take part in one or all of the events. SSV is offering a limited range of Track and Field disciplines. Why not give each one a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Good luck and I hope to be able to view all our MGSC Superstars results!
