Congratulations to the following students on their fine achievements.

ED'S DREAM EXHIBITED

Congratulations to Imogen Khinsoe (Year 11) for being accepted into the META exhibition. The META exhibition showcases outstanding work from Year 11 and 12 students studying Design, Media and Visual Arts.

The exhibition will run from 3–22 August at Gallery Central, 12 Aberdeen St, Northbridge.

Work title: Ed’s Dream

Statement: I wanted to create a product that was more for the quiet types in the gaming community – it has no RGB lighting (a staple in the gaming world), it just does what it needs to do and looks good while doing it. It’s minimalistic and doesn’t scream This person’s a gamer! at you 24 hours a day. I wanted to capture the essence of gaming while not using stereotypical features of gaming products.

Congratulations Imogen!

DESIGN AN AD WINNERS

Congratulations to Nishaan Sunner and Sam Vallabhaneni (Year 5) for their success in the Design an Ad Competition run by The West Australian ED! Working with Opportunities Teacher Mrs Rebecca Blaxell, the students explored how advertising persuades customers, and decided they would like to put their knowledge to good use and design adverts for the competition. The students worked independently on their designs and then gained feedback from one another on how to improve their designs.

A list of the winners and their designs will be published in The West Australian ED! Magazine’s special Design an Ad winners’ edition on Tuesday, 18 August.
