What's Happening at CHPS

CHPS Kindness Tree

At the end of Term 1, CHPS students and staff participated in Anti Bullying Day. As a school, we have made a pledge to be kind to each other and ourselves. We have all signed and decorated a leaf in agreement with this, which have now become a part of our Kindness Tree, located in the Pos Ed Tunnel.

Anxiety Workshop, Term 3

Helping your child manage anxious/worrying feelings

On any given week, Cheyenne and I come across children and young people who feel worried or anxious for a variety of reasons.  Although we can work alongside students to give them some ‘tools’ in their ‘backpack’ that they can use, we also know how much more valuable our intervention will be if it is reinforced at home by the people who spend more time with them than we do, their parents/guardians.

For this reason Cheyenne and I are seeking expressions of interest from parents/guardians in relation to a workshop that we hope to facilitate around helping children manage anxious/worrying feelings.  We plan to offer this in early Term 3.

If you are interested in attending a 2 hour session, can you please email Robyn -  miller.robyn.e@edumail.vic.gov.au to register and identify what day and general timeslot would suit you (morning, afternoon, or evening)?  Once we receive feedback from the CHPS community, we will promote the workshop/s via Compass and the Newsletter Wellbeing page. We hope to be able to partner with you and ultimately equip you to support your children as they navigate this area of their lives.

Free Dress Day

On the last day of this term we will have an Out of Uniform Day and ask students to bring a gold coin, which will be donated to State Schools Relief.
