Principal's Message

We’re back …well, at least some of us are and the school is once again filled with talking, laughing, greetings of ‘welcome back’, and ‘wash your hands with soap and water’ or ‘remember to use the sanitiser’. Thank you for trusting us with your children, even though I am sure some of you are concerned about their wellbeing. Most of the children were very happy to be back, and we wanted to make sure they felt welcome. Thanks to the group of students who made the welcome back signs.

Baby News

Over the remote learning time we had some lovely news, which you will already know if you follow our Facebook page. Welcome to little Millie Rose, much loved daughter of Ms Kristy Caruso and her husband, Claude. Although a little earlier than expected, Millie is just beautiful and doing really well; she just didn’t want to wait!

Now, we are getting excited about Mrs Lauren Heath and her husband’s first baby, due in August and Ms Nicola Holmes and her partner’s first baby, due in September; that makes it three ‘firsts’ this year. To make it an even busier year, we are delighted to let you know that Mrs Aimee Deacon and her

husband are expecting a baby in November, and this one will make three for them.

In her message to her class Lauren told her year 1 class that she could see that they had grown over the remote learning time. She then explained that she had grown too; she was growing a baby. It was very cute.

Nicola took a different approach with her year 6 class. She posted a picture of herself on google classroom… and asked, “What’s going on in this picture?

     (a)  Miss Holmes ate too many snacks during

            quarantine!

     (b)  Miss Holmes is pregnant!

     (c)  Miss Holmes has been bulking up at her

            home gym!”

Apparently some got it right straight away while others weren’t too sure. I can confirm that the correct answer was (b).

I know that Aimee felt she didn’t need to give any clues and the kids were delighted. We wish them all a healthy pregnancy until they welcome their healthy and happy bundle of joy.

Students remote learning

Right now Mr Thomas Stubberfield (music) and Ms Laura White (art) are gathering some examples of the work our students completed during remote learning. We had everything from students establishing their own seed boxes for writing; great job Ethan and Deacon, to cooking; recording their procedural text about the cooking and then enjoying the spoils of their cooking. A special one was the sight of some of our prep students logging in wearing their school uniform. It is easy to forget that they had really only had a short time at school before the introduction of remote learning.

It is lovely to have the kids back on site.

Winner of Family Fun Night & Harcourts Rata & Co. colour competition

Congratulations to Abby (2-20) who won first prize in the colouring competition run by Harcourts Rata & Co. Real Estate. As well as winning an ipad for herself, Abby won a $1000 donation to our school from Harcourts Rata & Co. Abby decided that more seating near the year 2/3 playground would be a real benefit for the kids at our school. Thanks Abby for thinking of others, and thank you so much Harcourts Rata & Co for your generous donation.

Take care and we are looking forward to welcoming our year 3 – 6 students back onsite next Tuesday 9th of June.
