What does Love look Like?

Love is Patient and Kind, the first words in 1 Corinthians 13:4.

The metaphor to 'put on your own oxygen mask before you help others’ is about first being patient and kind to yourself.

Our world is in new territory, COVID-19 being an extra challenge to currently embrace. As part of the wellbeing team, I would love to encourage you to find time in each day to rejuvenate/revitalise and replenish your physical and emotional health. To look at your busy schedules, revamp and make sure you find time to remove unnecessary, unhealthy distractions and schedule in:

  • Time to make and enjoy healthy food.
  • Time to drink at least 2 litres of water throughout the day.
  • Time to do 10 - 30 minutes exercise daily.
  • Time to have a conversation with someone.
  • Time out to explore / create / play / pray.
  • 7 - 9 hours solid sleep.
  • Time to speak positively into your own life.
  • Time to ask for help.

Rest and self-care are so important. The saying ‘It takes a village to raise a child”, means we are here to help, please ask.

When you take time to replenish yourself, it allows you to not only be the best example for your child, and to give out of your best, but it extends peace and kindness to all family members. If you are struggling with burnout, stress, or anxiety  please lean into us here at Tyndale, as your village. You can contact us at WellbeingStrathalbyn@tyndale.sa.edu.au
