ROLLER COASTER CAKE

In Math Methods Unit 1, students are required to complete a task to design a roller coaster, based on a polynomial equation. These equations have lots of dips and turns.

 

In past years students presented their design in the form of a poster or a 3D model, along with the associated mathematics.

 

This year we simplified the task so students did not need to do a poster or 3D model whilst dealing with COVID-19 isolation.

 

Jemma still wanted to create a model of her roller coaster.  Her model was a wonderful cake! It was a shame to cut it up, but the class thoroughly enjoyed eating her model.
