Community Project

Hello!

My name is Marysa Constantinides and I am a year 9 student at Immanuel College who attended LNPS from Reception to Year 7. I am working on a community project about homelessness and am looking towards setting up donation boxes at school. Everything collected from these boxes will go towards making care packages to be donated to homeless shelters.

As it is now winter, homeless shelters are in desperate need of various items. These mainly include blankets, jumpers, jackets, t-shirts, long sleeves t-shirts, gloves etc. Attached below is a greater list of items that they are in need of.

If you are able to donate any items that would be greatly appreciated. Donation boxes will be located in the front office from weeks 7 to 10.

Thank you so much for your kind consideration and support of a worthy cause!

City of West Torrens Food Scrap Recycling

Lockleys North Primary School is working with the City of West Torrens to encourage our school community to recycle food scraps into compost rather than sending this valuable organic material to landfill, where it is simply a waste.

The City of West Torrens provides a free kitchen caddy and a roll of compostable liner bags to West Torrens residents. Additional bags are available free of charge from the City of West Torrens Civic Centre and the Hamra Centre Library.

If you are interested in recycling food scraps using a free kitchen caddy and roll of bags, please complete the online form on the City of West Torrens website by Friday 12th June 2020.
