School Swimming Program

With restrictions still in place due to COVID-19, the swimming program for students in Prep - Year Two planned for early next term has been rescheduled to Term Four 20-23 and 27-30 October.  Notices and permission forms to be signed will be sent home closer to the date.

Year Five Camp

As you are aware , the Year Five Camp to Sovereign Hill 6 - 8 May, did not take place. We are pleased to inform you that we have managed to book a camp later in the year for students in Year Five at both St John's and St James schools. The two night/three day camp will be at Don Bosco Camp in Safety Beach on the Mornington Pennisula on Monday 26 - Wednesday 28 October. The camp will have a focus on leadership. We are still hoping to visit Sovereign Hill for a day excursion but are still waiting for Government Guidelines and Sovereign Hill to fully open . https://www.donboscocamp.org.au/

2020 Sacramental Program

Our Sacramental Program here at St John’s for 2020 was put on ‘hold’ in mid-March. We were fortunate that children were able to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in an engaging and reverent ceremony, although families were unable to be present. 

We would presently be in the midst of home masses and First Eucharist celebrations. Due to the continuing state and federal government restrictions, the decision has been made to move the Eucharist Program to 2021, with slight changes to it. Therefore our 2021 Year 4 students will  receive the sacrament of the Eucharist early next year.

As restrictions are eased, it is our hope that there may be an opportunity to schedule a new date for the celebration of Confirmation in Term Four. However, until approval is granted to allow for large gatherings in the Church, any actual plans to celebrate in the usual way remain just that - plans! 

Once State Regulations allow, we will finalise the dates and processes. All necessary information will be forwarded to families. Thank you for your understanding.
