A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

BACK TO SCHOOL

It’s just a few more sleeps until our students can come back to school on Tuesday 26th May! Buses will run as usual from then.

The remote learning website will still be available it just won’t be updated while teachers are working face to face with students at school.

When students return to school we will be following DET guidelines to maintain hygiene and social distancing. I am asking parents to be really quick when picking up and dropping off students. For the foreseeable I have instructed staff not to speak at length to parents or carers after school. If you want information about the day it is best to do this on the phone. We have to keep adults on-site to a minimum, this means we will not have volunteers or parent groups at school at least for the rest of term 2. Another group who will not be allowed onsite are the NDIS therapists who often want to come and observe our students in their school environment.

SCHOOL PROGRAM CHANGES

Our school program is going to look quite different as well. We are not allowed to have swimming lessons, excursions, incursions or community access.

KEEPING SCHOOL CLEAN AND SAFE

Care will be taken to keep the school as safe as possible. We will have extra cleaning done at midday on all our high touch surfaces including the playground.

I have let staff know that they are to be vigilant about their own health and are not to come to work when they are sick. I will also be calling families to come and pick up sick students and again I am asking you if this happens if you can please come quickly.

THE TRANSITION BACK

I expect a fairly smooth transition back to school for our school community, I know many staff and students are anxious to resume a level of normality in their lives.

Please don’t hesitate to call the school if you have any concerns or questions.

Cheers Sue.
