Year 3 - Year 5

Assistant Principal's Report

Welcome Back to Onsite Learning!

Our Year 3-5 students have had a terrific start in their first week back to onsite learning. Before our students returned, their teachers worked hard to continue the remote learning program, plan for the remainder of Term Two learning as well as prepare and plan an engaging Term Three program.  The smiles from both teachers and students on Tuesday was reaffirming to just how special our school is to everyone.  What are you grateful for today?

Remote learning was definitely a new experience for both our school and our families and whilst some thrived, others found it more challenging.  What is important though, is that we made it through.  The choice of online and offline learning programs, combined with interactive video chats, endless compass news-feeds and email communication supported us all to be successful.  These things also supported a smooth transition back into onsite learning.

Many students chose to bring in learning samples that they completed and it has been wonderful to explore and celebrate this effort.  Below are some great examples of this:

Now we are officially back at school, THE RESILIENCE PROJECT can begin.  Students in Years 3-6 will begin working through their resilience project journals this Monday.  The Resilience project focuses on teaching strategies to develop resilience, promote positive mental health and increase happiness within all people, not just our children.  Our Specialist teachers are also jumping on board, by visiting classrooms during these sessions and supporting the content of the resilience project through their subject area.

Congratulations Pakenham Springs Learning Community on a terrific return to onsite learning.

 Best Wishes
