Performing Arts Highlights

Argus Community

The Argus Community have been working on developing their understanding of exploring and expressing the dance elements in Performing Arts. This includes learning about timing, space, actions and energy. Students have enjoyed experimenting with their movement ideas in the space in response to different types of music, stories and choreography. 

Achilles/Ulysses Community

In the Achilles/Ulysses Community, students have been working on creating a sequence of movements and experimenting with the dance elements: tempo, actions, space and dynamics. They have been performing different movement vocabulary in dance and exploring different body parts to move in the space. Students have enjoyed developing their own routines and creating actions in response to different movement stories. 

Xenica Community 

The Xenica Community have been focussing their learning on Drama in Performing Arts. They have been introduced to different scripted and improvised drama scenarios to act out in the space. Students enjoyed exploring the theatre styles of comedy and drama to entertain and engage their audience. They have enjoyed using their imagination to express movement and voice techniques when role-playing a variety of characters. 

Icarus Community 

In the Icarus Community, students also developed their knowledge and understanding of different drama concepts in Performing Arts.  They have performed film auditions, monologues and creative magic item commercials using props, costume and technology. Students have finished the term by acting as director's in small groups to experiment with the drama elements using scripted drama.
