PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

THANK YOU

It's fair to say that 2020 is unlike anything we have ever experienced before. The challenges that you have faced as families and our school as a community are unprecedented.

We are so proud of our students, teachers and parents for their resilience and positive attitude throughout this term. We thank our parents for their ongoing support and I'm extremely proud of how our students, staff and parents worked together during this time.

Whilst some things have not returned to normal for our school, most have, and it's pleasing to see how our students have settled back into the routine of school. Over the last 5 weeks, teachers have transitioned students back into learning and taken the time to reconnect with students and gather feedback about how our students are going.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen our students growth in Term 3.

STAFFING UPDATE

During Term 2 we welcomed Ceren to our Prep Team and Maddy  to our Integration Team.

We said goodbye to Jade, one of our Prep teachers as her and her partner welcomed Harvey into the world 2 weeks ago. Jade is now on family leave and we look forward to her return in the future.

We also congratulated Sam Kenely, one of our Assistant Principals on her promotion to Principal at Roxburgh Park Primary School. We thank Sam for her outstanding work to establish our school and her support for our whole school community.

We will miss Sam but we wish her all the best with this excellent opportunity. We will invite Sam to a whole school assembly so that we can all thank her together in the near future.

SANDPIT

Our sandpit is now complete and we have purchased equipment for each community. Next term students will be able to explore our new sandpit!

BASKETBALL COURT

Our new basketball rings have been installed and students have begun using the courts during recess and lunchtime. We look forward to our students enjoying this new addition to our school!

SCHOOL REVIEW

During Term 3, our school will be part of a School Review. This involves a panel of staff, regional leaders and school council members evaaluating our school's strengths and areas for improvement and future focus.

Gathering feedback from students, staff and parents is part of the process, elements of this began in Term 1 and 2 and will continue into Term 3. Online surveys will be posted over the next few weeks for parents to complete on Sentral and Facebook to help inform our School Review.

The School Review is also an opportunity to develop a 4 year plan, known as a School Strategic Plan. This will help us establish our goals, targets and strategies for the next 4 years and ensure we are continuing to improve.

We look forward to working with you throughout this process.

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

Our community breakfast will return for students next term! Toasted cheese sandwiches will be served inside the school once students enter. We look forward to working with our Salvation Army Team again!

Have a well-deserved break everyone!

Kind Regards,

Pete
