Senior School News

It has been fantastic to see our Year 11 and 12 students and run face to face classes again. We are really proud of the way they have responded to the need to learn remotely this term. It has been a really busy week catching up with the students and the work they have completed at home over the past 6 weeks and we look forward to the Year 10 students returning on 9th June.

For the VCE students now it will be a busy final few weeks of term completing the rest of the SACs for Unit 1 & 3 classes. For the Year 10 students now is the time to reflect on how they have been progressing with learning at home. Students should spend the final week of remote learning considering how well they have engaged with classes from home and how well they have understood the content covered. If you have fallen behind in some subjects please use the last few days to make a start on catching up on work you have missed. Once Year 10 students return to school you will have 3 weeks to the end of term to complete the rest of the content for your subjects. We will be analysing the results when we meet for course counselling next term so students should make sure they are in a position to pass as many subjects as possible by the end of term.

Year 10 & 11 Subject Changes

At the end of term the Year 10 students will complete their semester 1 subjects and begin the new subjects at the start of term 3. Year 10 students will be notified of their semester 2 subjects by the time they return to school. If any Year 10 or 11 student would like to change any of their subjects they should meet with the Careers and Pathways Coordinator, Heather Palm, to discuss the changes and any impact they may have on pathways. If you decide you would like to confirm a subject change please email jmi@gec.vic.edu.au with the requested change.

All subject changes must be completed by Friday 19th June.
