Year 8 News

So we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and there are plenty of students who are very excited at the thought of going back to school. Who would have thought they would ever feel like that! Some of our Year 8 students were very busy in reaching out to our community, here is what they were up to.

Recently, the Glen Eira College Year 7 and 8 Transition Leaders and the Junior School Leaders featured in a video that aimed to send a reassuring message to peers containing ways that they could protect their mental and physical health. The video demonstrated exercise and organisation strategies to assist in these last few weeks of remote learning. Everyone was enthusiastic to participate in the film and recorded themselves at home. These individual recordings were gathered and edited to create the GEC Remote Learning Video, 2020. This video was posted to the new Glen Eira College Facebook (Glen Eira College) and Instagram account (glen_eira_college).

While we were all tucked away in our homes with not much excitement going on, one of the coordinators had a monumental occasion, he proposed to his long-time girlfriend! Congratulations to Daniel Lake.

Year 9 News

Welcome back Year 9s! We hope you’re excited to start learning face to face again. Your teachers are here at school and we can’t wait for it to be noisy again.

Make sure you keep an eye on your timetable, it might change again this term when school reopens.

Be organised with your equipment for school, because you won’t be allowed to share too much at the moment.

Keep practising your hygiene habits, because just because we’re back in the building doesn’t mean we can be careless!

Unfortunately you can’t do everything at school yet, like homework help, excursions and sport. But either way, we can’t wait to see you, and we’re keen to hear any interesting stories you have.
