Environmental Tips:
Hi All,
I have put together some environmental tips that you might find useful for you and your family. The tips for this newsletter are:
Shop your pantry before heading to the supermarket
The statistic in Australia is that 35%* of the average household bin is food waste. So before heading to the supermarket check out what you have in the pantry and use up your old items. Try new dishes with the ingredients that you have available. .You can check out: https://www.supercook.com/#/recipes
This website suggests recipes based on ingredients that you already have….you might find a new favourite recipe for your family.

How to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs from scraps
If you have leftover fruit, vegetables and herbs some of these items can be used to start growing items in your own garden. Jan Canaway from ABC Life has put together some great tips on what fruit, vegetables and herbs you can grow and how to grow them from scraps, just click here.
Greening your wardrobe and repurposing
During isolation, you might like to go through your wardrobe and focus on outfit planning. You might find that there are some items that do not fit your needs. Then maybe they do not need to stay. You could put these items aside for donation, or spread some joy by sharing with family and friends. If you use a sewing machine you could transform your old clothes into new creations e.g. turning a dress into a top. If you had some old t-shirts, they could be turned into cleaning cloths for use around the house.
