We welcome all or Year 10's back to school. On Monday 26th of October, after a surprise breakfast, the whole school got together  to clap and cheer all the students through the halls!

Its been a long time since we have all been back together! They have demonstrated remarkable resilience and strength throughout the past few months. Well done!

Congratulations

Congratulations to the entire Leadership group for 2021.The JMSS community look forward to supporting you in your leadership roles in 2021. Well done!

Student's story

Year 11 student, Andrei Babanin has written a wonderful short story.  This short narrative is about 19 pages long and he would really love for it to be accessible and readable for the JMSS community.

Enjoy!

TiE Young Entrepreneurs 2020

The program provides students with valuable experience in building a successful business model whilst learning key entrepreneurial skills.

Over four weeks, Tanay Nagar completed four online workshops that taught him about ideation, marketing, financials, and presenting. This culminated into the virtual finale where each group pitched their idea to a panel of judges.

There were 4 groups in total and Tanay was in a group with two other students, one from Sydney and one from Nossel. The group had access to a mentor from Digital Enact.

Bottle-to-Bottle

Bottle-to-Bottle is a digital platform that aims to simplify the recycling of commonly littered

items such as plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminium cans. Their objective was to create a system where households were rewarded for collecting these recyclables without having to travel anywhere. They did this through environmentally passionate collectors within a council, essentially creating a close-knit community. The bonus is that everyone gets paid!

As part of the development process, Tanay surveyed students from JMSS in order to gauge some expression of interest in Melbourne.

The group won and will represent TiE Melbourne in the Global Leg of the program next July.

The next stage of the competition will allow the group to gain skills, network, and the recognition to implement bottle-to-bottle as well as other innovative business ideas.

Australian Science Fair

This year we will be virtual!

JMSS and Monash University are proud to present a three-day National Science Fair to celebrate student engagement in STEM investigations and teacher professional development in STEM education.

Held in celebration of the scientific and STEM related research that students carry out in their own schools, the Australian Science Fair provides an opportunity for students work collaboratively with other like-minded, passionate students from around Australia on STEM challenges, Seminars and Poster Presentations.

We will be running the fair from Monday 23rd - Wednesday 25th of November
