Callistemon House

I would like to thank all Callistemon students and our teachers for the incredible effort that they have made through such a difficult term. While we know it has not been easy, everyone has showed resilience in their learning and a focus on maintaining connection and engagement.

Our teachers have focussed on student wellbeing and engagement, using different programs and ideas to encourage and support students. These have included ice breaker games, warm ups and mindfulness activities. Teachers have also shared motivational videos for staff and students to encourage and continually engage.

Our students have shared their thanks with their teachers throughout the term.  Here are a couple of comments:

For all the patience and caring
For all the kind words and sharing
We just want to say THANKYOU.
Ethan (C8)

I would like to thank all the teachers for all the hard work
and the great effort on our learning at this difficult time.
I think that all the teachers deserve a THANKYOU.
Bella (C10)

Our student leaders have supported and enabled a strong connection across the House. They have provided an opportunity for all students to have a voice and provide feedback to each other and to their teachers, have launched lunchtime clubs and catch ups for students, as well as messages of support and encouragement to keep everyone motivated.

Always try to give someone a smile and make their day even better. Zeel (C7)

We have even had students and staff share their talents and new ways of passing the time while at home.

Baking a Cake … and drawing…

We would also like to congratulate Raei from C7 who was involved in the creation of a novel through 100 Story Building. He was interviewed on ABC radio for his outstanding efforts and we would all like to congratulate him on behalf of the school.

We are looking forward to welcoming back our senior students at the start of next term.  We understand that continuing remote learning for the first few weeks of term will be hard for our Year 7–10 students, but we know that they can do it and we are looking forward to all our students returning at some stage in Term 4.

We wish all our students a happy, restful and well-deserved holiday!
