Principal's Message
Welcome to week 6...
We have traveled through a very unpredictable term, having weathered the COVID-19 restrictions to meet the challenges of Australia’s response to the global pandemic. Not in my teaching career, have I witnessed such wide-spread impact of an external event on teaching and learning.
Our community has been wonderfully supportive of our school during this time and I greatly appreciate your understanding. Please take the time to read the updated guidelines.
In line with current health advice, the NSW Department of Education has issued the following updated COVID-19 advice for families effective from Wednesday 19 August 2020.
• Parents/carers are reminded that students must not come to school if they are unwell- even with very mild symptoms.
• Teachers should be vigilant in recognizing if any students are exhibiting flu like symptoms during teaching and learning activities.
• Where identified, teachers must refer students to the sick bay where they can be isolated and the school must arrange for the parent or carer to take them home.
• If a student has been absent due to flu like illness or develops flu like symptoms while at school (even if mild), they are not to return to school until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom free. The negative COVID-19 test result must be sighted and received by the school before his or her return to school.
• Please refer to the following document for further information.

As a result, we ask that any student showing symptoms (no matter how mild) including sore throat, runny nose, high temperature, headache or persistent cough, be kept home from school. Currently, if a student presents to sick bay with one or more of the above symptoms, parents will be asked to make arrangements for him or her to be picked up from school.
We also request that these students, whether at home or sent home from school, be tested for COVID-19. Students may return to school when they are symptom free and the school has received from you a copy of the notice of a negative result. Usual procedures need to be followed regarding medical certificates- one must be supplied from a medical practitioner if the absence is more than 3 days concurrently.
We appreciate your understanding in this changing environment.
