Principal's Message

Thank you parents!

Selemat datang semuanya (Welcome everyone)
Please see a message below from the Year 6 Environmental Leaders

Environmental Team Leaders

Hello staff, parents, friends and fellow students! My name is Imogen and I am one of your environmental leaders this year. Staying home may have prevented us from doing much at school, but there are plenty of things we can do to help save the environment from the comfort of our own homes.

Firstly,  early this year we all started collecting bread tags and in the hopes that we are back at school soon, we would like to remind you to keep saving them up! Bread tags can be recycled for charities like this one:

https://ozbreadtagsforwheelchairs.org.au

Since we are all at home most of the day (and on the internet), I would like to introduce you to an internet browser called Ecosia. Ecosia is a browser just like Safari or Google, except that they use all profit to plant trees. It is free to use and it helps the environment. To find out more about Ecosia and for easy instructions on how to use it, follow this link: https://www.ecosia.org/?c=en

With your help we can make a difference to the school, the world and the people who live in it. Thank you for helping us keep the environment safe.

From,

The Environmental Team

3 Year Old and 4 Year Old Kinder resume onsite learning from Monday 5th October (There will not be any Remote Learning provision). Kinder staff are looking forward to welcoming all students back with the following measures in place:

  1. Temperature checks
  2. Separate entry and exit to school through hall ( as in Term 2)
  3. Adults to maintain social distancing and wear face masks.
  4. All children on entry sanitise hands and then regularly throughout the day and then on exit.
  5. Additional cleaning of high contact surfaces conducted through out day by staff and additional contract cleaner.

School

Week One of Term Four for all students will be Remote Learning.

From Week Two all Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students will attend onsite. I will confirm our arrangements at the beginning of Term Four, but they will be similar to the return to school in Term Two.

Year 3-6 students will continue with Remote Learning until further notice.

All staff are planning this week in their teams for Term Four, with the continued focus on Literacy and Numeracy, with above all else supporting students well-being.

As was the case for this Term if you believe you fit the categories of onsite care and supervision can you submit your forms for the first week back in Term 4 by Thursday 16th September at 3.00pm.

eSafety Information

After  the social media incident that many of you would have heard about in the media last week I wanted to share a media link from Martine Oglethorpe, from the Modern Parent, who we have worked with in the past. "When it comes to our kids being exposed to disturbing or inappropriate content online, unfortunately it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when'," the Office of the eSafety Commissioner says.(ABC Life: Nathan. The link covers how we have conversations with our children when they have seen something disturbing when online.

It is also a reminder about how important it is to monitor our young peoples' social media use.
