A Partnership with Family Life: Holiday Appeal

THANK YOU to our community for your generous donations of support! We are so proud of the GEKA Community and wanted you all to know that your contribution has made a BIG difference in the lives of others.

As you know, each year, we ask families and staff within our community, to consider donating to local people in need of support. Last year, we did this in partnership with Family Life, and collected many wonderful gifts for children and family members. We have joined with Family life again this year.

Recently, we put a call out to our community, to seek donations of food, so Family Life could support families, in a really practical way, that are doing it tough. We did not expect the response we received and have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community! We received well over 100 shopping bags full of food for families. It took us one large car load, filled to capacity, to get it all delivered to Family Life, so they could distribute it. 

A message from Family Life: 

“This year has been a hard year for everyone, and in particular for our vulnerable clients and their families. It is more important than ever for us to spread some Christmas joy and Family Life is committed to making this happen. WOW! The donations are absolutely amazing. We're floored by the generosity of the GEKA community. Thank you so much for picking us as recipients."
