Congratulations to the following students who competed at the All Schools track and field Championships.

All students competed to an outstanding level and were up against some tough competition.

Hayley Silvester competed at the Victorian Track and Field school state titles in October 2016. Hayley took home the gold medal in her 400m run with a time of 1:03 minutes. Hayley also took home a silver medal in her 100m Hurdles event with a time of 16.20 secs. Congratulations - what an amazing effort and achievement for you. Dromana College is extremely proud of you, well done.

 

Will Hunt also competed in the Victorian Track and Field school state titles in the 100m event and took home the silver medal with a time of 11.68 secs. Will then went on to compete at the All Schools Track and Field Championships where all schools are invited to enter students for each event. Will raced against schools from all over Victoria, public and private included. He took home a gold medal in his 100m race with a time of 11.63 seconds and took home a gold medal in his 200m race with a time of 23.83 seconds. Amazing effort Will, we look forward to seeing many more incredible achievements in the future.

Cycling

Congratulations to Trevor Allan of year 8 who is the 5th fastest mountain bike rider in Victoria.

The VSCC - Victorian Schools Cycling Championships State Final were held at Bendigo recently.

Trevor Allan of year 8 participated in the U15’s mountain biking race.

Trevor came 10th in the final, and finished 5th overall in the series.

The Voice of Frankston

Congratulations to Madison Bailey who has taken the title of The Voice Of Frankston 2016 Junior Category.

Madison is a Year 7 student at Dromana College and has been an exemplary example of determination, professionalism, kindness and a co-operative contestant.

We received over 110 applicants that were short listed to 25 semi finalists and 10 grand finalists.

She competed in the Voice Of Frankston Grand Final, at Frankston Arts Centre to win against 3 other artists in her age division.

Broadcast live on RPPFM, Filmed for Frankston TV and in front of 4 Judges, Madisons  performance of a song from Wicked was faultless.
