Ally Gray Makes the Cut

Ally Gray (Yr10) was recently selected for the Under 21 Mixed PoloCrosse State team to play for Victoria in 2020. Having to go through two formal trials and perform at her best over the course of this year, Ally was chosen for shooting abilities amongst other strengths. The team of eight will compete in Ballarat during the March-April holidays next year over a carnival lasting a week. Ally has been competing in polocrosse for the past 8 years and has taken her to Western Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales and here in local competitions. All of this competition doesn’t come without hard work. Ally has to attend to up to five horses although, here at the boarding house, Ally is lucky to only have one, Archie. Archie is a four year old Australian Stock Horse and is roughly 16 hands. Along with Ally, polocrosse is well represented at College with Annabel Michelmore and Laura Michelmore also making State representative teams.

Yong Soeung Ly's Success In Table Tennis

Yong Soeung Ly is a 14 year old boarder in Year 8 who has joined our boarding family this semester. As soon as Yong Soeung arrived, he was able to show his strong ability in table tennis. He was constantly being challenged by all the boarders to see if they could beat the champion in the boardo!

Dominic Wong (Yr8) invited Yong Soeung (Yr 8) to the local table tennis competition where he played each Thursday evening. During this time, he was very successful and was awarded the Boys’ Singles Runner-up trophy for the 2019 Hamilton Table Tennis Club Championships. Yong Soeung loves table tennis. He has only been playing table tennis for 1 year, which is extraordinary. He simply loves this game because he plays with his mates but I think we may be hearing more of him in the future for his talents as well as his passion for the game. Well done Yong Soeung Ly!
