The Hamilton and Alexandra College Horsemanship

Sue Chandler Clinic

Thank you to all the riders who participated in the clinic with Sue Chandler over the weekend. We greatly appreciated the expertise and efforts of Sue in training our riders. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. We will look forward to having Sue with us next year to conduct some more of these incredibly beneficial clinics. Thank you to Linda Archer for her organisation and assistance over the weekend.

Interhouse Showjumping

The Hamilton and Alexandra College Interhouse Showjumping 2020 finally went ahead last week and we were most grateful that the weather decided to be kind to us! Thank you to all our riders who participated in this competition. It was so fabulous to see so many of our junior riders participating in this event with our new 30cm section. Our junior riders enjoyed watching the skills demonstrated by our more experience senior riders and I am most grateful for their positive role modelling and inspiring efforts. I hope to see all our riders again next year and look forward to watching their showjumping skills improve. Thank you to the parents who supported this event and graciously took on various roles throughout the afternoon to allow this event to run smoothly. Thank you again to Linda Archer for her expertise judging this event.

Young House was the winner overall for another year!! I hope there will be some riders in 2020 who will look forward to challenging Young House for the trophy next year.

Horsemanship Dinner & Horsemanship 2020

Thank you to all our Horsemanship families for coming to our Horsemanship Presentation Dinner. Thank you to our super chef, Alfonso, for the delicious meal he so kindly prepared for us. Thank you also to all the students who so deservedly received awards. Thank you to Jorgia Farrugia for her kind words and for all her efforts this year as Equestrian Captain. We welcome Olivia Biggs into the position for 2020 and I am confident she will bring a great deal to the centre and the program overall. I am extremely proud of the spirit within our equestrian centre and the support which all our families provide to the program. Wishing you all a magical Christmas with your families and a restful break over the holidays.

I have attached the Junior and Senior Horsemanship forms for Term 1 in 2020 and would be most grateful if these forms could be returned prior to the end of the year for me to prepare our staffing and the program overall. Please note that a commitment to the Horsemanship program is on a termly basis.

Please see the websites below and our Hamilton College Equestrian facebook page for notifications of upcoming events in 2020. We would love to see as many riders as possible representing the College on the Interschool Equestrian circuit. Don’t forget to send me in all your achievements so that I can acknowledge and make a permanent record of them.
