Boarding

I was delighted with the announcement of our 2019 Boarding Captains this week and I am confident that Nikita Cavill and Jonathan Lee will do amazing jobs in these roles. I am extremely proud of both these boarders and I know they will carry on the hard work of Georgia and Toby whilst also bringing new ideas and energy to the role. They are both extremely passionate about boarding and see the position as an opportunity to support other boarders and to give back to the other boarding community.
Congratulations to all the Year 11 boarders who gained other 2019 leadership positions. I know that when I looked through the list of names I noted that there were many boarders.
It was beautiful to have some warm weather over the weekend, and what a way to see in the cricket season. I was delighted that Ben McCure was chosen to make his A Grade debut and it was wonderful to sit with his proud parents on the sidelines and watch him score his first runs. Ben took two wickets with the ball with very tidy figures, so it was certainly a memorable debut.
We embraced the warmth on Saturday night with a BBQ picnic dinner. The picnic rugs and portable speakers came out and it was a lovely way to relax into the evening. As always Gavan did an amazing job on the BBQ and cooked up a storm.
We are in full preparation mode for the Year 12 farewells next week. We have the Boarders’ Dinner on Wednesday night followed by the Year 12 brekky in bed on Thursday morning. After their brekky, which will be served by the Year 11s, the Year 12s will walk the Myrniong driveway and boarding Guard of Honour for the last time. They have been a terrific group of Year 12s and we want to give them the farewell that they deserve.
