Team Vic Nominations

Each year, SSV run trials for Team Vic in various sports and a number of our students have attended these over the years.

Please note that all information for each sport can be found on the SSV website (look for the Team Vic link).  Some nominations are set to open on 1 December and it is up to families to ensure they check the relevant sport’s details.  More information on the application and selection process can be found here. 

Please note that the school must endorse applicants prior to applying as only a certain number of students from each school are permitted to attend and a certain standard is expected from all attendees.  Please do not pay any registration fees prior to receiving this approval.  If your child is interested in applying, please notify Claire Morris no later than three weeks prior to applications closing (for most sports this will be 9 February, 2020).  Applicants will be notified two weeks prior to applications closing of the outcome (for most sports this will be 23 February, 2020).

Division Lawn Bowls:

Thanks to the amazing support of the Buninyong Bowls Club, we will again be taking some teams to the Division Lawn Bowls competition on 2 March, 2020.  We are welcoming any Grade 4-6 students who would like to try out to come down to the gym at lunchtime on 7 February for a try out session.  If your child is unable to make this day due to other commitments, please contact Claire Morris prior to the day to make alternative arrangements. 

For those selected, we will be hosting training at lunchtime on 14, 21 and 28 February. The cost is expected to be approximately $11.

Division Swimming:

Applications for the 2020 Division Swimming team are now open to children turning 9-13 in 2020.  Please complete the application form to express your child's interest in the Division Swimming Competition to be held at Eureka Aquatic Centre 50m Pool on 27 February, 2020.  More information can be found here.

 

There will be a cost of $10 and students are permitted to compete in a maximum of two individual events, one freestyle relay and one medley relay.  Please note that students will be selected for their events as each school is limited on entry numbers and qualifying times are enforced.  Events and relay teams will be selected based on times provided when registering (this is compulsory) and not all students will necessarily get a place in their chosen events.  Please note qualifying times on the event information.

Parent transport to and from the venue will be required.  Please contact Claire Morris if you need assistance with this.

 

Age groups are based on participants' age as of 31 December 2020.

 

The application form must be completed by 11 February, 2020.  Permission notes and payment request will follow shortly after closing date.

Encouragement Swim Meet:

Applications will be opened shortly for the 9 and under 25m Encouragement Swim Meet on 18 March, 2020 (held in the evening).  There will be both freestyle and backstroke events with a cost of $4 per event.  PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SWIMMERS MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM 25M.  This will not be a staffed event but school swim caps are able to be borrowed.  Please stay tuned for more information.

There will be an entry cost for spectators (approximately $4) and programs can be purchased at the door.  Further information will be forward to families once it is received.

Timing Gates Operator – If there is anyone trained in the Little Aths timing gates and is able to run them for our Interhouse Athletics on 4 March, can you please get in touch.

 

Icypole sellers – Looking for volunteers to organise and sell icy poles at the Interhouse Cross Country on 18 February.  Please get in touch.
